COLEMERE SAILING CLUB
2012 XMAS PARTY
A brief report from John Beasley
This Year the Xmas party took place at THE BLACK LION HOTEL, ELLESMERE
on FRIDAY 7th DECEMBER
We had sole use of the facilities – a super 4 course menu Inc. coffee and mince pie and a private bar and a little ‘light entertainment!’
This year’s Christmas party, as to be expected, was most enjoyable, a good opportunity to meet members and relax with well humoured entertainment and games and not forgetting the delicious food .
My teenage daughter accompanied me to the do and on the drive home I was surprised when she told me that she thoroughly enjoyed herself and this without the use of modern technology.
Mr organized (Mike) had brought the menu choices with him for those who forgot what they had ordered – I was relieved that I was not the only one having to double check!
Thanks to our Commodore for keeping the evening light humoured and the speeches brief. As the scheduled entertainment was unable to attend (the rumour was that it should have been the Rolling Stones), a big Thank You goes out to those brave men who stepped into the breach. Ian Ramage and Ed Burke played guitars and sang, including the well known Colemere Sailing Club song, composed by Ian himself.
All I can say is well done to those who made the evening one to remember.
Thanks
John, Mel (Charlotte)
