Gusty Day At Colemere, Sunday 19th October 2014

Richard suppliedĀ some pictures and a video of todays sailing.

“A gusty start for Colemere Sailing Club’s Early Bird race. Sunday 19 October 2014. Plenty of action for Helen, Peter and Mike in the Safety boats. Much swimming by John and David in the RS Vision whilst Paul demonstrates a quick way to exit a Laser – over the bow! ”

Pictured in the Laser 13 are new members Tim and Ellen and the girls, sailing very competently. They were having a great time up to the point of Tim’s tiller snapping. But they didn’t even capsize once. Mustn’t have been trying !

Also sailing today was Hugh who was first out but (probably sensibly) thought better of it. Later on, John went out in his phantom. I noticed he did capsize a few times, but it’s all part of the fun.

Thanks to all the members crewing the safety boats today, nice to know you were on hand.

Here isĀ Richards video

All credit to Richard for excellent pics & video in difficult circumstances. Given the wind, waves and spray the small safety boat does not make a very stable platform for making movies!
