Racing so far in 2010

This year the season has got off to a cracking start (no pun intended following my incident with the club ladder in January!)  The first Sunday sailing saw rather too much wind, but the die hards had a great time reaching up & down and trying to outdo each other with spectacular capsizes.  Since then things have settled down a bit, and every scheduled race has been sailed – so far no further races have been lost to not enough wind, too much wind, or the wrong sort of wind (with the exception of Matt who thinks every wind is the wrong sort).

The air temperature is now quite balmy & the water temperature is not far behind.  The multitudes who went swimming last Sunday can vouch for that.  As the days get longer, Thursday sailing wil be starting this week.  So now is the time to dig your wetsuit out of the cupboard, roll your boat down to the water and get sailing.

We have had a good fleet out on Sundays so far this year, but there is plenty of room on the mere for more.  Remember it doesn’t matter how much racing you have done, get your boat out on the water for a potter about, or join in the racing if you want.  I’m looking forward to seeing you all out there…
