Thursday sailing – Offer of help

From Mike Brain

As the weather ( and hopefully the water) starts to warm up Thursday afternoon/ evening sailing has started and continues through to the end of September.

On Most Thursdays when the weather looks good Hugh Farrington & I tend to get to the Club by about 4 pm for a sail prior to racing in the evening.

during this time the safety boat is out and ready for use.

We Are both happy to assist any new/inexperienced members ( or anyone else for that matter!) with any tips on

1) the use of the Club Boats

2) the use and handling of the Safety Boats & OOD duties

3) basic racing tips and coaching

4) basic sail tips & coaching.

Anyone is welcome to turn up and request help on any Thursday, but if the weather looks Bad it might be advisable to give one of us a ring first to check we will be there.

Hugh has also asked me to remind everyone (but especially the newer members) that he is prepared to turn up ( by prior arrangement  & if he is available) and man the safety boat on Non Sailing days for anyone who want to sail but is not confident without safety cover.( see Page 28 of the members year book)

hope to see you one the water, on Thursdays

Regards

Mike Brain
