Training Day on April 28

Captain Rob SearsFrom Sailing Captain Rob Sears

Please remember that we are running our first training session on Sunday 28 April.  We will be starting the day at 10:00 prompt.  I will be doing a presentation called ‘What makes a boat move’.  Whilst the obvious answer is wind, it is actually a bit more complicated than that and if you understand how it all works you can do a better job at adjusting your sails to go faster – at least that is the theory!

We plan to start the training race at about 10:45 and some of the more experienced sailors will be on hand to follow you around in the safety boats & give advice.

Hopefully this date is already in your diary, so I hope to see lots of you on that day.

P.S. Please can I remind all OOD’s that you need record the elapsed times for all races, even if the result is obvious, such as there only being one class racing.  We also run a personal handicap system & we need the elapsed times to score these series. Thanks.
