Colemere Charity Day in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society – Sunday 9th September

From Club Captain – Helen

What a marvellous day we had last Sunday !  The sun was out and although the wind was quite gusty we had fairly good sailing conditions.  The Officer of the Day, Tony Boys, set a super course for us all and for the first race we had seventeen boats eager to get across the start line.  Prizes were awarded to the winners with Tom Harris taking first place, Martin Cushing second and Nick Blore a close third.

We had some very generous raffle prizes to hand out and I’d like to say a big ‘Thank you’ to everyone who donated a gift. It was definitely much appreciated.  The first prize was an aqua fleece jacket, kindly donated by Rooster Sailing. Ellen Dimelow had the winning ticket.  Tony Boys had the second prize of a wine basket donated by Tanners Wines.

I’d like to thank everyone who attended and made the day so special.  It was a lovely opportunity for our new members to meet everyone and Ali Anthony’s chocolate brownies proved very popular !!

The total raised on the day was an amazing £337. This is a superb amount to be able to donate to such a worthy cause.

Many thanks again.

 Helen Smith – Captain
